QPLOX is an active partner of the CHARM-ECSEL JU R&D project funded by the EU since July 2020. QPLOX has already been part of projects aiming to the development of a gas sensor network platform, consisting on hardware and embedded software for the measurement of various specific gas concentrations in air. As indicated in the CHARM definition, “the CHARM-ECSEL JU project aims to develop industrial IoT (Internet of Things) solutions with an improved tolerance towards harsh industrial surroundings. Digitalisation of the European manufacturing industries is the key to their continuous renewal and competitiveness”.
Participation on EU funded projects helps QPLOX to gain the capability of acquiring the know how and creating IP assets for the development of applications on various domains, such as air quality assessment on buildings, HI-VAC control applications, ozone sanitization, composting and fermentation control, mining environment, amongst others.
QPLOX collaborates directly with other European partner teams participating in the project, namely Sandvik (Finland), MCL-Leoben (Austria), IMEC-NL (Netherlands), BESI-Netherlands and Tampere University (TAU, Finland) amongst many other partners, to build a platform for the measurement of target gases concentrations, enabling the transport, remote storage and processing of gas sensors distributed in a mine or installed on autonomous mining vehicles, based on a WiFi wireless infrastructure.
At present, at QPLOX we are designing and building the Analog Front End (AFE) and the readout electronics for novel electrochemical gas sensors fabricated by IMEC-NL, and for novel MOX miniature gas sensor arrays produced at MCL-Leoben. We will also set up the systems for the local data concentration, temporary storage and transport to the cloud or to an on-premises endpoint.
On this blog pages we will present various technology application aspects, features and fundaments, as a way to disseminate the capabilities and illuminate the value analytic gas sensing technology can bring to users in some specific business applications.
